Glasgow 2014 was the third Commonwealth Games for Emily after she represented New Zealand at the 2006 games in Melbourne, where the team placed 4th, and the 2010 games in Delhi, where the team won silver. Glasgow added a bronze medal to Emily's Games Campaign results, defeating Trinidad and Tobago in the bronze and fourth placing game.

Emily also competed at three Olympic Games: 2004 in Athens, 2008 in Beijing and 2012 in London. Emily was the most capped women's player at her retirement in 2016 with 274 test caps. A midfielder and defender, her shirt number was 2.
