Coach David Phillips is thrilled with the New Zealand team’s effort

“I’m very proud. We only had to count one fall, which is great for us," he said. "Some of our routines didn’t have the high start values of the top nations, but the competition was very tight.”

In his first senior competition, Dick earned a place in the all-around final and in the floor. He’ll be joined by Koudinov in the all-around competition and Devy Dyson will compete in the rings final. Ellis was impressive in qualifying fifth for the individual vault final.

Koudinov and Dyson are first reserves in the parallel bars and high bar respectively.
