The NZOC has been advised by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) that Bali has withdrawn from hosting the Beach Games and the event has been cancelled.
For our athletes who had been working so hard to prepare, this will come as a shock and will be incredibly disappointing. We understand the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has withdrawn due to funding concerns.
25 New Zealand athletes were due to compete across six sports at the Games. The NZOC is connecting with athletes and their sporting bodies as we work through the situation.
