16-year-old Sheldon will be representing New Zealand in Fencing at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games. Sheldon attends Cashmere High School and is a member of the Fencing Institute. His hobbies include skiing, reading and computer games. Sheldon began competing in December 2008 and his sporting highlight so far is placing 2nd at the Senior Oceania Fencing Championships in October 2013. Sheldon's role model is Daniel Chan, his favourite movie is Shawshank Redemption and his favourite quote is from Aristotle: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is not an act, but a habit.”
