EVENTS: Diving: Women's 1m Springboard, 3m Synchronised Springboard, Mixed 3m Synchronised Springboard

Sixteen-year-old Maggie Squire competed at her first Commonwealth Games in Birmingham competing in 1m and 3m springboard, and synchronised events.

Squire has trained at Auckland Diving from age 8 and is passionate about the sport. She has been New Zealand champion in various age groups and events since 2016 and is the current New Zealand Open Women's 1m and 3m National Champion. Squire was selected to a Diving New Zealand National Team at the age of 13 and competed in her first FINA Grand Prix events at 14 years old, making the semi-final of the 3m Springboard in the Kuala Lumpur Grand Prix, Malaysia, 2019.

Squire is a former student at Takapuna Grammar School and completed her schooling one year early to focus on diving and to begin studying engineering. She was excited to return to international competition in 2022 at the FINA World Championships in Hungary, before heading to the Commonwealth Games, and hopes to build on this experience with an aim to attending future Olympic Games.
