The New Zealand Olympic Museum welcomed its 50,000th visitor last weekend. The milestone achievement comes after record numbers of visitors were generated by the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Helping to reach this attendance number was the promotion of the museum through the ASB Olympic Schools programme and the recent school holidays. Director of the Olympic Museum Charles Callis says, This is a fantastic achievement for the Olympic Museum and one that confirms that the museum is a significant tourist and schools destination in Wellington. The New Zealand Olympic Museum preserves the rich and unique heritage of the Olympic Movement in New Zealand and is located at the TSB Arena, Queens Wharf in Wellington.
