New Zealand asserted its dominance in the 1500m events on Day 11 of the Pacific Games, with remarkable performances from The New Zealand Team.

Women’s 1500m: Tillie Hollyer Clinches Gold, Peyton Leigh Takes Silver

Tillie Hollyer showcased her exceptional form by clinching the gold in the women’s 1500m with an impressive time of 4:26.06.

Speaking after her victory, Hollyer revealed, “I went out quite hard and tried to be consistent. I talked to my coach before I came out, and my goal was to go out hard from the start and run the legs off people, and it all went to plan.”

Teammate Peyton Leigh secured the silver with a commendable time of 4:39.53.

“I feel very very happy, this is my first international team representing New Zealand, so I am very happy that I’m able to bring a Silver home in the 800 and 1500m."

"I'm glad that Tillie and I were both able to get the gold and silver. I think it makes it a little bit better having a teammate beside me,” said Leigh.

Men’s 1500m: Jack Paine and Liam O’Donnell secure Gold and Silver

Jack Paine dominated the Men’s 1500m, securing the gold with a stellar time of 3:50.97.
