New Zealander Trent Jones faced some hot opposition in today’s seeding round of the BMX competition.

Jones, who turned 22 last week, ended up 25th of the 32 competitors. He was timed at 36.331s, which was 1.8s behind the fastest rider of the day, Joris Daudet of France.

He finds himself drawn in Daudet’s quarter-final bracket tomorrow.
