It's was 50 years so we had a celebration of one of New Zealand's greatest sporting events with all the people that made it the "Friendly Games". A weekend of connection and celebration was held over the 26th and 27th of January 2024.
This was a special evening for former athletes (and some current Commonwealth athletes), volunteers and supporters as we looked back at what was fondly on the Christchurch 1974 games. The celebrations included fabulous food, entertainment, guest speakers, recognitions, uniforms, memorabilia, and even the vehicles from those games.
