Margaux Hackett (Wānaka based, age 22) is looking forward to dropping into the Beijing Big Air on the 7th of February in her debut Winter Olympic Games.

“I am really excited to be here for my first Olympics, all the venues look amazing, awesome first impressions of the Olympic village and excited to get rid of this jetlag and get going.”

This is not Margaux’s first time competing in Beijing; she finished in 4th place at the FIS Freeski Big Air World Cup on this very jump, achieving a career best result.

“That was part of how I qualified actually, which is pretty cool, kind of like a full circle I guess.”

Margaux will also represent New Zealand in freeski Slopestyle on Sunday the 13th of February.

“I am looking forward to the Big Air event and hope that I get a good result, but honestly my eyes are pretty set on slopestyle, up in the other Olympic venue, so I am pretty excited for that event.”
