Regan Ware won a gold medal at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as part of the men's rugby sevens team.

The young Bay of Plenty winger impressed so much in his first year in international sevens in 2015/16, he was nominated for the Rookie of the Year award. The former New Zealand Schools representative dotted down 15 times in his debut season including the sensational last gasp try to send New Zealand into the Hong Kong Sevens final.

Consistent form saw Ware became a regular selection in 2017, appearing in nine of the 10 tournaments. Ware hails from Tokoroa and displays the speed on attack and strength on defence that is essential in the fast-paced world of sevens.
