Tenika Willison won a gold medal at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as part of the women's rugby sevens team.

Willison started training with the Black Ferns Sevens team as a 16-year-old, too young to play for the national team but recognised as a future talent. With a background in touch having played for New Zealand and age group and senior level, Willison transfers her ball skills, footwork and pace to sevens seamlessly. She was named player of the tournament at the 2018 National Sevens.
