Sarah hails from Lower Hutt but first made a name for herself in the Auckland club scene, starring for Lynn-Avon United, Three Kings United and Eastern Suburbs.

Unlike many of her team mates, she had to bide her time to make her international debut, breaking into the side at the age of 23 for the 2010 OFC Nations Cup.

Now 28, the Japan-based forward has an impressive strike rate at international level after scoring 24 times in 78 appearances.

She played in all of New Zealand's matches at the FIFA Women's World Cup in both 2011 and 2015 and Rio 2016 was her second Olympic Games campaign after helping her team to the quarter-finals of London 2012.
