EVENT: Shooting: Women's Trap
Tokyo 2020 will be Natalie Rooney's second Olympic Games following an extremely successful Olympic debut at Rio 2016.
The trap shooter won a silver medal in Rio, with the podium New Zealand's best ever Olympic shooting result.
Rooney has been competing internationally since 2006. She placed 5th at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games and 4th at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. In 2017 she claimed the number one world ranking in trap shooting.
Since 2012, Rooney has been spending three months a year training in Europe under the guidance of top Italian shooting coach Andrea Miotto.
When Natalie is not training she can be found working for her South Canterbury-based family business, Rooney Earthmoving.
