Tokyo 2020 will be Lewis' first Olympic Games.

The Wellington swimmer has qualified in both medley distances, the 200 and 400m Individual Medley. In 2019, he claimed the bronze medal in the Men's 400m IM at the FINA World Championships and in the same discipline a year prior, won the bronze at the 2018 Gold Commonwealth Games.
This year, Lewis lowered his Olympic entry time in the 400m IM, which not only broke the New Zealand record, but also broke an Oceania record, currently placing third in the world rankings.
