Laticia-Leigh
Transom has had a breakout year in 2017. Laticia-Leigh's first New Zealand
international team was to the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games in Nassau, the
Bahamas where she won two golds (4x200m Freestyle Mixed Relay, Girls 200m
Freestyle), two silvers (Girls 100m Freestyle, 4x100m Medley Mixed Relay) and a
bronze medal (Girls 50m Freestyle).
Laticia-Leigh won bronze in the girls 16 years and under 100m freestyle at the 2017 Australian Age Championships.
Transom (Ngati Kahungunu, Ngai Te Rangi, Te Ati Haunui a Paparangi), was also recently named Junior Maori Sportswoman of the year at the 2017 Maori Sports Awards.
She currently attends Brisbane Grammar and is coached by David Lush who received an ‘outstanding coaching achievement' at the Australian Swimming Coaches & Teachers Association (ASCTA) awards during the ASCTA convention.
