Ena competed at the Amsterdam 1928 Olympic Games in the 100 yard backstroke and 100 yard freestyle. She placed 7th in the 100 yard backstroke.

Ena is New Zealand's 22nd Olympian.

She was the 100 yard freestyle champion from 1925 to 1929 and the 100 yard backstroke New Zealand champion in 1929. She held the record in the 100 yard freestyle in 1929 with a time of 1:11.8.

She also held the national record in the 100 yard backstroke from 1927 to 1929, breaking it four times, twice in 1928. Her best national record time in this event stood at 1:24.40.

Ena died in 1989 aged 82.
