Bryony Botha hails from Auckland and joined the Cycling New Zealand High Performance programme in 2018.

Botha initially took up cycling as a hobby to do with her father. Once she tried the track at Manukau, she was a convert, quickly impressing to earn selection to the NZ Junior team that earned two Junior World Championship medals, including a rainbow jersey, in the team pursuit in Kazakhstan in 2015.

Botha was a member of the team which won the silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the UCI World Championship bronze medal in 2019. She has been a key part of the team pursuit engine room ever since
