Andrew Nicholson competed for New Zealand in three Winter Olympic Games as a short track speed skater.

Andrew attended Albertville 1992 with a team placing 4th in short track 5000m speed skating relay and 28th in short track speed skating. Also attending the Lillehammer 1994 Winter Olympics, Andrew was placed 27th in the 1000m short track speed skating. Andrew attended his third Winter Olympics in Nagano 1998, placing 35th in the 1000m speed skating and 40th in the 1500m speed skating.

Andrew Nicholson is also an endurance cyclist is a former holder of the Guinness world record for around the world cycling. He started and ended this journey at Auckland International Airport, New Zealand, between 12 August and 13 December 2015.

Andrew's brother Chris Nicholson is one of two Olympians to have competed in both the Summer and Winter Olympics as both a cyclist and speed skater.
