Alena Saili

EVENT: Women's Rugby 7's

Alena Saili joined the Black Ferns Sevens team in her first year out of Southland Girls' High School and made her debut in Sydney at only 19-years-old. 

Saili is a powerful ball runner was strong footwork on attack and accuracy on defence. She is a regular selection in the Black Ferns Sevens set up. 

Adept at both forms of the game, Saili debuted for the Black Ferns in 2018 and has five international caps in the XVs game. She was part of the team that won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and also has a Commonwealth Games gold and bronze medal to her name.
