Alastair Gifford

15-year-old Alastair will be representing New Zealand in Sailing at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games. He is a student at Marlborough Boys' College and is a member of the Queen Charlotte Yacht Club. Alastair began competing in 2008 and his sporting highlight so far has been competing at the Optimist World Championships. Alastair's role models are Dean Barker and Peter Burling and his favourite quote is, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”
