Aimee Fisher was born in Rotorua and raised in Hastings, Fisher first represented her country as a teenager but her breakthrough year came in 2015, when she joined with Jaimee Lovett, Caitlin Ryan and Kayla Imrie in the K4.
The quartet, coached by Rene Olsen, won the K4 500m at the World Cup round in Portugal and made the final at the world championships in Milan, qualifying the boat for Rio 2016 Olympic Games. After having trained together for just 18 months, the young crew placed fifth in the medal race.
