The New Zealand Olympic Committee as three Commissions that meet as and when required to undertake its role and responsibilities as set out in their Terms of Reference.

Athletes' Commission – A representative group of athletes from the Summer Olympic Games, Winter Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games. The Athletes' Commission is a consultative body which acts as the athletes’ voice within the New Zealand Olympic Committee in accordance with the Olympic Charter. It provides advice to the New Zealand Olympic Committee with respect to all matters impacting on New Zealand’s Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes. The Chair Athletes’ Commission is a full voting New Zealand Olympic Committee Board Member. The Athletes’ Commission is comprised of up to ten elected by their peers. Education Commission – A representative group that contribute their experience and knowledge of education and sport in New Zealand to the New Zealand Olympic Committee. The role of the Olympic Education Commission is to advise the NZOC Board on strategies to promote Olympism through education.  Read more ...

Olympians' Commission – The Olympians Commission is a representative group who have represented New Zealand at a Summer or Winter Olympic Games. The role of the Olympians Commission is to provide an opportunity for Olympians to celebrate their Olympic experience, to continue their involvement in the Olympic Movement and to support the objectives of the New Zealand Olympic Committee.
