Glasgow 2014 was the first Commonwealth Games for Kenya-based Zane who competed in the 5000m event, earning a bronze for New Zealand. Zane raced alongside twin brother Jake and fellow kiwi Nick Willis around the track for the 12 and a half times, finishing in 13min 16.52.
Zane and brother Jake moved to Kenya seven years ago to train with the athletes they would soon race against. Now, 24, Jake and Zane have established themselves in the distance running tradition of New Zealand.
Prior to the Games, Zane placed 14th at the 2013 World Championship in the 5000m event and 12th at the 2014 World Indoor Championships in the same event.
