Born and bred in the Hawkes Bay, Shea made his debut for the Black Sticks in 2005 and has since played 53 tests. A midfielder with real speed and vision he often causes defences trouble with his probing runs. Currently plying his trade in the Dutch League he has battled a dislocated shoulder in recent times – an injury which cost him a spot in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Back in the team to play in the Azlan Shah Tournament he will be looking to secure his spot in the team to go to Beijing and some strong performances will put him right in the hunt to realise that dream.
