Kayla debuted for New Zealand in 2003 vs Canada while she was still a secondary school student. She began her international career as a striker but is currently playing in the Black Stick’s midfield. Kayla is an outstanding midfielder who possess tight stick work and elimination skills. She has fantastic vision going forward and has the ability to set up dangerous attacking plays. Kayla strikes the ball very strongly and has a great range of goal scoring shots. At 22 Kayla has a strong career ahead of her. The Beijing Olympic Games will be Kayla’s second Olympics having competed at the Athens Olympics in 2004 as an 18 year old. Kayla lives in Palmerston North and plays for Central in the New Zealand Hockey League.
