Christy is a snowboard slopestyle specialist. Although she has always enjoyed an active lifestyle, Christy had a relatively late introduction to snowboarding and didn’t get started until the age of 17. However, it was love at first ride and Christy has been on a rapid rise to success ever since.
Christy is currently ranked seventh in the world for women’s snowboard slopestyle and won gold at the slopestyle world cup in Stoneham, Canada in January 2014. She enjoyed a series of podium placings during the 2012 and 2013 seasons including second place at the TTR 5-star Super Girl Pro, first at the Czech World Cup Big Air, second at Burton High Fives TTR 5-star, first at Billabong Bro Down TTR 4-star, firstt at US Open Rail Jam as well as fifth at the Burton Open slopestyle TTR 6-star. Christy was awarded the “Ms Superpark Standout Award” for 2013.
Christy says that she feels both honoured and humbled to be representing New Zealand at the Winter Olympic Games. She is looking forward to a great experience and feels excited and nervous in equal part.
When she is not on the snow Christy enjoys art and yoga and, naturally, has a strong interest in health and fitness.
