Beatrice Faumuina Born 1974

Beatrice won back to back gold medals in the discus at Kuala Lumpur 1998 and Manchester 2002. Beatrice won a silver medal at the Victoria Games in 1994. Beatrice Faumuina won the first world title by a New Zealander when she won the discus throw at the 1997 world championships in Athens.Beatrice has competed at three Olympic Games, four Commonwealth Games and six world championships. She was flagbearer for the New Zealand Olympic team in Athens in 2004. At the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 Beatrice won the Gold medal in the discus and repeated this at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. She was first in the discus at the 2002 world cup in Madrid. Beatrice has won the New Zealand discus title 15 times.
