Amasio holds the record for the most IRB Sevens tournaments with 50 and is <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />New Zealand’s most experienced player. He hit the international scene as a teenager in 1998 and has since played in two Commonwealth Games tournaments – in Kuala Lumpur and Manchester. Although his achievements in Sevens have made him a household name, he has also played for the Blues in the Super 12 and for IRB World Championship-winning New Zealand Under 21 side in 2000
