Sarah has been selected as one of 29 Young ambassadors from around the world to represent NZ at the Youth Winter Olympic Games in Innsbruck next January. This is an exciting opportunity for both her and for New Zealand and she is joining the Commonwealth Games Youth team to Isle of Man on her way back from the induction conference in Innsbruck, immediately before the Commonwealth Youth Games. Sarah van Ballekom is the 2011/2012 Youth Ambassador for our New Zealand Olympic Committee. Her role offers athlete support and encouragement. Specifically she will use social media (facebook/Youtube/blogs) to communicate Youth Commonwealth Games results and document the teams journey to everyone back home in New Zealand. Sarah is in her fifth year at Otago University studying towards a double degree of a Laws and Physical Education.
