New Zealand equestrian athlete and Rio 2016 Olympian Tim Price has won the prestigious Burghley Horse Trials in England.

The 39-year-old produced one of just eight clear show jumping rounds on mount Ringwood Sky Boy to complete on 27.3 for first place. Fellow New Zealander Andrew Nicholson and Swallow Springs placed third.

2018 has been a stellar year for Tim and wife Jonelle Price who also competed at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The pair now holds the Burghley, Luhmuhlen and Badminton CCI4-star titles between them, after Jonelle won the two spring events.
