New Zealand’s rowers have claimed two silvers and a bronze at the World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Kerri Gowler and Grace Prendergast won New Zealand's first medal at the event. The women’s pair and reigning world champions finished second in their semi-final behind the Canadian pair and the result was repeated in the final. New Zealand led early, but Canada took the lead shortly after the 500m mark and held it for the win.

Women's double sculls pairing of Olivia Loe and Brooke Donoghue followed with silver. The pair battled it out with the US for second and the New Zealanders maintained their early lead to finish in 6:46.

Chris Harris and John Storey then claimed bronze in the men's double sculls. The pair were behind early, but a late surge saw them pip Great Britain at the line to finish third, with Switzerland in second and France taking home gold.
