The Boxing Team for Glasgow 2014 has been finalised! Alexis Pritchard and Leroy Hindley tell us what it's like to be selected to represent New Zealand.

1. How does wearing the Silver Fern give you strength?

Alexis: The mana of our nation is within the Silver Fern. Carrying it on my chest when I go to battle reminds me of all the people supporting me - I want to do my very best for them and for me.

Leroy: Wearing the Silver Fern gives me strength knowing that i'm representing our people as a nation every time it's on my chest!

2. What does representing New Zealand mean to you?

Alexis: It gives me joy and makes me feel proud. I am honoured to be given the opportunity.

Leroy: It's a proud moment and a dream come true to represent New Zealand.

3. What are 3 attributes that every boxer needs?

Alexis: Mental fortitude, discipline and self-belief.

Leroy: Discipline, will power and an open mind.

4. How did you get into the sport?

Alexis: I wanted to get fit, healthy and feel good about myself. I started doing boxing classes with strictly no intention of fighting. A few months down the track, I was accepted into Cam's boxing squad and I got in the boxing ring for the first time after being encouraged by him. I cried the first time I sparred, but I have never regretted it for a moment.

Leroy: An old friend invited me to the gym and I caught the bug. I haven't stopped since that day and I absolutely love it.

5. Come up with your own inspirational quote that reflects you

Alexis: "Never underestimate who you are and how far you can go. Remember what you have achieved and tell yourself each and everyday what you are capable of." This truly reflects the inner battles that I have had to overcome to finally believe in me.

Leroy: Chase your dreams. No matter how many obstacles you face or sacrifices you have to make, with perseverance you will succeed!
