Javelin thrower Stuart Farquhar has finished seventh at the Bislett Diamond League meeting in Oslo with a throw of 78.84 metres, below his recent personal best of 86.31 metres. The competition was won by Czech Vitezslav Vesely who overtakes Farquhar as World Leader for 2012 with 88.11 metres. Andrea Miller posted another good time in the 100 metres hurdles of 13.25 seconds. Running into a slight head wind, Miller placed 11th overall, missing a place in the final by three places. It was her 4th race in 5 days. Miller is chasing her personal best and New Zealand national record of 13.10 seconds and the Olympic qualifying standard of 12.96 seconds. Millers training partner, world champion, Sally Pearson easily won the final in a world leading 12.49 seconds. Adrian Blincoe ran a solid 5000 metres in 13 minutes 26.43 for 16th in the 5000 metres, three seconds slower than his most recent effort in the USA. Blincoe was the 2nd non-African in the race. His personal best and New Zealand national record 13 minutes 10.19 seconds. The Next Diamond League meeting will be in New York on Saturday (Sunday morning NZ time).
