The first round of Olympic ticket confirmations in New Zealand are to begin on Friday 1 July. Phase I ticket applications opened in April for Kiwi sports fans and since then requests for nearly 2,000 Olympic tickets have been received by travel partners Harvey World Travel and United Travel. Chef de Mission Dave Currie says Clearly it's been a massively popular thing and there's no surprise the event has attracted so much demand for tickets. New Zealanders are keen to be there and get in behind the team. New Zealanders who applied for tickets to London 2012 will start finding out whether their ticket applications were successful from this Friday. They will be contacted by their Harvey World Travel or United Travel representative. The opening and closing ceremonies are expected to attract a high number of applications, as well as more high profile events including major athletics and swimming. Tickets for these events are expected to be limited. While Kiwi fans may not always get their first choice of tickets, well work hard to ensure each proud New Zealander has a wonderful Olympic experience at London 2012. We know our athletes are excited to have so many supporters planning their trips! Family Tickets Remember, each athlete has access to TWO tickets for family or friends at London 2012 (with the exception of swimming preliminaries and some athletics events where only ONE is allocated). These tickets are collected by a nominated family member or friend in London. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
