The workforce on the London 2012 Olympic Park and Athletes Village has reached 12,635 as the big build nears completion. The Olympic Park and Village construction is being carried out on time and within budget by a dedicated and hardworking team in London. The workforce have completed construction on the Olympic Stadium and Velodrome and are on track to finish all the main venues and infrastructure this summer, ready for Test Events ahead of the Games. New Zealand Olympic Team Chef de Mission Dave Currie is delighted that preparations for the London Games are on schedule. New Zealand Olympic Committee representatives have visited London twice to date and three more trips one of those happening next month are planned to monitor progress before athletes begin arriving in July next year. In New Zealand, plans are well underway to launch an exciting Olympic campaign on April 28th and athlete selections and qualifying will happen later in the year. Around 200 New Zealand athletes represented in 17 sports will be making us proud at the 2012 Olympic Games and more than 100,000 Kiwis will be in London to cheer them on.
