The fifth venue in the Olympic Park, The International Broadcast Centre (IBC), is now complete and with one year to go, five of the six venues on the site have now finished construction. The new centre will be part of the new media hub which includes the Main Press Centre and a dedicated retail, leisure and catering area just for accredited press and broadcasters. The New Zealand media will join over 20,000 photographers, print journalists and broadcasters who will be reporting back to the homeland 24 hours a day. This is especially good news for out TV broadcasters Sky who will no doubt be making the most of the top class facilities in London as they provide unbeatable coverage of the Games to New Zealanders. Sky will be dedicating six event specific channels to the Olympic Games with one montage channel allowing you to choose from a range of different categories. Free to air station Prime will also be providing great coverage of the Games. Chef de Mission, Dave Currie, will be heading over London for his next site visit on the 27th of July, one year out from the Games, to check how the plans are coming together and see how our New Zealand athletes will be fully looked after both on and off the field.
