New Zealand athletes preparing for the 2012 London Olympic Games now have the support of leading nationwide airport retailer, JR/ Duty Free to help them get one step closer to achieving their Olympic dream. In announcing its sponsorship of the New Zealand Olympic team, JR/ Duty Free General Manager for New Zealand and Australia, Kate Gorman says the company is proud to be backing the team and recognises the effort and expense that each athlete invests in their sport. JR/ Duty Free is 100% behind the New Zealand Olympic team achieving their best at the 2012 London Olympic Games and our sponsorship will contribute essential funding towards assisting the team in going for gold, says Gorman. The Olympians we are supporting demonstrate a huge commitment to both their sport and country, and JR/ Duty Free is proud to be associated with such an inspiring group of young New Zealanders. New Zealand Olympic Committee Secretary General, Kereyn Smith is delighted to have JR/ Duty Free on board as the official retail sponsor for the New Zealand Olympic Team. The partnership between JR/ Duty Free and the New Zealand Olympic Committee is a natural synergy as both organisations are passionate about helping Kiwi athletes achieve their personal best at the 2012 London Olympic Games, says Smith. To celebrate its sponsorship, JR/ Duty Free is retailing a limited edition supporters T-shirt through JR/ Duty Free stores at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch airports. We would encourage all New Zealand sporting fans to wear the official Olympic supporters T-shirt from JR/ Duty Free to show their support for our athletes, whether they are arm-chair fans at home or travelling to the games, says Smith. The official Olympic supporters T-shirt has been produced by Rodd & Gunn and is available from New Zealand JR/ Duty Free stores for $41.00 tax free. JR/ Duty Free will be launching a Facebook page in the lead up to the Olympics where New Zealanders can keep in touch with young Olympians, watch candid interviews with the athletes and offer words of support.
