Young Ambassadors Programme; The New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) has been selected to participate in the Young Ambassadors Programme coordinated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Innsbruck. We are now looking for expressions of interest from individuals aged from 18 to 25 who would like to be selected as our participant and member of the New Zealand Team to Innsbruck 2012. The IOC requires the Young Ambassador to be involved in the promotion of the YOG Culture and Education Programme (CEP) to young people in general and the New Zealand team athletes, pre, during and post the Games. In addition to this activity the NZOC would like the selected participant to become a vital member of the New Zealand Team for Innsbruck 2012 in an Athlete Support role. They will receive training and mentoring for this role via our new Athlete Support Development Programme to begin in the second half of 2011. Profile - Aged between 18 25 - An active or retired athlete - Connected to young people (used to supervising or working with young people) - Significant experience in the fields of education and/or culture and or the arts - Good communicator and social media tools active user - Available to commit time to the role - Has a strong interest in sport (particularly winter olympic sports), culture and education Time Commitment - Pre Games promotion of Culture and Education Programme - Participation in NZOCs Athlete Support Development Programme (Upto 3 weekends in August to November 2011) - Attendance at the IOC organised Young Ambassador Seminar 1-4 September 2011 in Innsbruck - Games time attendance (exact dates to be confirmed by IOC but likely 9 to 23 January 2012) - Post Games promotion and reporting Expression of Interest Process Friday 17 June 2011 - Expression of Interest open Friday 24 June 2011- Expression of Interest closes 27 to 30 June 2011 - Shortlisting (if required) 4 & 5 July - Phone Interviews (if required) Please email a short introduction letter and CV to; Lorraine Kent New Zealand Olympic Committee lorraine@olympic.org.nz For further information please contact Jake Wilkins, Team Services Director on 04 385 0070
