The New Zealand women's team pursuit team left it all on the track, taking fourth place in their medal race today.

The women’s team pursuit, having qualified in the morning with a personal best performance, were unable to convert their ride-off against Canada into a bronze medal.

In the morning ride, the New Zealanders, Lauren Ellis, Racquel Sheath, Rushlee Buchanan and Jaime Nielsen, were timed at 4min 17.592s. Their opponents, Poland, were disqualified.

The Canadians always had the edge in the medal race and won in 4min 14.627s. New Zealand was timed at 4min 18.459s, still a strong performance.

Great Britain rode a brilliant final to beat the United States in the world record time of 4min 10.236s.
