The level of preparation and planning that has gone on in London is second-to-none, he said from Auckland today. The venues are stunning and well-tested and Im looking forward to moving into the village and setting up a slice of Aotearoa, New Zealand in London. Well also be making sure the Sailing and Rowing Olympic villages in Weymouth and Eton Dorney reflect our homeland and make our athletes proud. With 3500 Kiwis travelling to London to the games, 100,000 Kiwis already there and a fantastic atmosphere in the host city, London will be as close as possible to a home games. Currie heads for London tomorrow where he will lead the advance operations team in setting up the New Zealand residence within the Olympic Athletes Village in Stratford, London and fine tuning arrangements ahead of the first New Zealand athletes arriving on July 16.
