The Mens Black Sticks Team has had a busy programme since December last year. Placing fourth at the Owen G Glenn FIH Champions Trophy and more recently having had home test series against Korea and Japan. The team will be centralised from 16 April in build-up to the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and then the Olympics. For a number of players this means uprooting and living and working in a different location to what they are used to. This is a huge commitment for the players as it is for quite a while. Having the team centralised is very important, and according to Black Sticks Men's striker Stephen Jenness: Having everyone together working hard and pushing each other right through to London will help the team immensely. It's an opportunity for me to work hard and do everything possible to be ready for London if selected. The intensity will of course be very high and the load is something I have not experienced before, so it will be a challenge, but I'm really looking forward to it. Centralisation is seen as key for a team to reach its goals. London will show how effective the Black Sticks Men teams centralisation was.
