Teenage gymnast Ethan Dick continued his fine showing at the Commonwealth Games when he finished fifth in the men’s floor routine today.

The 17-year-old’s score of 13.500 was still some way behind Cypriot winner Marios Georgiou, who recorded 13.966. But considering this is Dick’s first senior competition, he performed with distinction.

Dick was a member of the New Zealand team that finished sixth and came 11th in the individual all-around competition.

Dick’s countryman Devy Dyson, 24, finished sixth in the men’s rings today with 13.533 points. The event was won by Englishman Courtney Tulloch, with 14.833.
