London progress has been going really well, and was luckily enough to spend 4 weeks training in the deep south in a little but spectacular town, Wanaka. Living up at Snowfarm NZ, 1550m above sea level at a winter sport cross country skiing facility i believe it has to be one of the most spectacular places to train. With rolling untouched mountains, fresh mountain air and a view of snow topped mountains you wouldn't think you could ask for much more?.. However Wanaka does have more, with the clear blue fresh water lake, good enough to drink, it makes swimming a breeze. And coming off such great training down in Wanaka, i was able to perform well at Nationals, winning the U23 Elite category and coming 3rd overall in Open Elites. As well as a great start to the season, i was able to gain a great amount of ITU points, moving myself into the Top 20 on world rankings. This for me is great progress towards selection into the 2012 Olympic team, and with the business end of the season only just about to start i am really looking forward to making small steps towards the big race in August where all New Zealand triathletes have the first chance to gain selection.
