I have now based myself in Europe for the remainder of the 2011 ITU Triathlon circuit of racing, mainly because of the wintery weather in New Zealand and the distance to races. I am currently in Font Romeu, France for some altitude training living at 1800 metres with training buddy and Olympic triathlete Kris Gemmell, as well as both my coaches Chris Pilone and Andrew Nicholls.

My progress toward Olympic qualification has been going really well and I am currently on track to where I need to be leading into the selection race in London in August. I was 11th at the opening round of the World Championship Series in Sydney, Australia in April and 19th at the 2nd round of the series in Madrid, Spain just 1 week ago.

I have now changed my focus from racing and am getting in a good block of training before I head to the 4th round of the world series in Hamburg, Germany before spending 3 weeks in Saarbrucken, Germany at the German high performance centre doing the final preparations before the big race in London on the 6th August. But for now its time to buckle down and get some good training in!
