With not long to go until the big day it was time to head away from the wintery New Zealand weather and get back into the sun and warmth, I chose France!! I am currently based in Font Romeu, a ski resort in winter and a training heaven in summer. With training buddy and fellow team member Kris Gemmell as well as my coaches we are going to leave no stone unturned into the lead up to London.

I was officially selected into the NZ Olympic Team yesterday, and being confirmed into the team after a great few races in Mexico and America was a great feeling. It was important for us to get those important points we were after for my Olympic spot. I am now able to focus on preparations and training towards the 7th of August. Racing two races in six days to ensure New Zealand guaranteed the three spots was a true test of my fitness but after the disappointment of my crash in Sydney and the great preparation I had done from December last year I was confident in doing what needed to be done. After a great race and second placing in Mexico it was straight into recovery mode which included ice baths, massage and chocolate milk to ensure I got the body back into the best possible condition for the next race which was in San Diego six days later. To my surprise the race went great and I managed my best placing so far in a WTS race with a sixth place so obviously the recovery had worked a treat and with three kiwis in the Top 10 we more than secured our three spots for London. From now until then I will be in France doing my final preparations before some racing starts to ensure I get the final touches done before the final showdown. Lets just say... with 50 days until the Games begin I am getting very excited!
