Wow, what an incredible summer it has been in New Zealand. A few ups and downs but overall it was such a great domestic season of training. I feel strong for my arrival in London and getting back on the course. Time has flown and it has been over five months since I was over there last.
I am going to Singapore today and upon landing have three sessions on the course before Mike and I paddle foreruns for the Great Britain Olympic selections. It is fantastic to have this opportunity and it will be a good challenge straight off the plane.
I feel I am completely ready to take on the international waters once again and I am excited about the first race in Bratislava in two weeks. I am feeling strong and confident with some hearty training in the bank.
Thanks to all who made the domestic season so great, to Waiariki for your continual support and to all my family and friends for their encouragement.
The bags are packed, kayak and paddles wrapped and ready for the long haul. Another 107 days to go - Bring on London!
