William Benson

William is a young sprinter who moved from Hawkes Bay to the strong North Shore club under former Olympian Scott Talbot to further his career. He recorded his PB 50.26s for 100m freestyle in his last chance at the Oceania Championships which gained the FINA B qualifying time and ensured the men's 4x100m relay nomination could go forward for selection. He competed in both the 2006 and 2008 Oceania Championships. Beijing will be William's first Olympic Games.
