Tyla Nathan-Wong won a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and gold at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as part of the women's rugby sevens team.

The playmaker is a natural athlete and was the youngest to ever be selected to the Black Ferns Sevens team when she made her debut as an 18 year-old in 2012.

Nathan-Wong was a key member of the team that lifted the sevens World Cup a year later. A senior member of the Black Ferns Sevens make up, she captained the team during the 2017 season and is in the top five all-time point scorers on the World Series.
