Troy has been a stalwart of Wellington basketball and on the periphery of national selection for several years. He was one of the stars of Saints' 2003 NBL title win. During the following summer, he practiced with the Wollongong Hawks in the Australian NBL and his continued improvement in the 2004 New Zealand league earned him a call-up for national honours.
